Bacon Jam Sliders

Ingredients

For the Bacon Jam: 

  • 6 oz ButcherBox bacon (chopped) 
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 medium onion (thinly sliced) 
  • 1 shallot (thinly sliced)
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar 
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar 
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup

For the Sliders: 

  • 1 lb ButcherBox ground beef 
  • 8 slider buns
  • 8 slices American cheese
  • Jalapenos (sliced) 
  • Salt and pepper to taste 

Instructions

Preparation 

  • Chop the bacon, onions, and shallots. 
  • Form the ground beef into small patties, seasoned with salt and pepper. 

How to Cook 

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped bacon and water. Cook until bacon crisps up, about 5-7 minutes. Remove bacon and set aside. 
  • In the same pan with bacon fat, add onions and shallots. Cook for 20 minutes, stirring frequently, until caramelized. 
  • Add apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, and maple syrup to the pan with the onions and shallots. Stir in the cooked bacon and simmer for 5 minutes, creating a thick, sticky jam. 
  • In a griddle or grill pan, cook the beef patties over medium heat for 3-4 minutes per side. Add a slice of cheese on top of each patty at the last minute to melt. 
  • Place each patty on a slider bun, top with bacon jam and sliced jalapenos. Serve immediately.
