Ingredients

  • 1 package of Chicken & Mozzarella Ravioli frozen
  • 2 tbsps olive oil
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsps tomato paste
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • grated parmesan cheese for garnish
  • fresh basil leaves for garnish, optional

Instructions

Boil the Ravioli:

  • Start by bringing a large pot of water to a boil. Boil the ravioli for 4 to 5 minutes until they reach your desired tenderness. Once the ravioli are cooked, drain them in a colander and set them aside.

Prepare the Red Sauce:

  • In a large skillet or saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the finely chopped onion to the skillet and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until translucent.
  • Stir in the tomato paste and continue to cook for another 2 minutes. This will allow the tomato paste to caramelize slightly, enhancing the flavor of the sauce.
  • Now, add the can of crushed tomatoes, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir well to combine.
  • Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. This will help the flavors meld together and the sauce to thicken.

Combine Ravioli and Sauce:

  • Once the sauce has thickened to your liking, add the cooked Chicken & Mozzarella Ravioli to the skillet. Gently toss them in the sauce to coat evenly.

Serve:

  • Plate the ravioli with a generous scoop of the tomato and tomato paste-based red sauce over the top.
  • Garnish with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves if desired.
