One in nine people in America face hunger.
ButcherBox is on a mission to raise awareness for hunger in the United States. By partnering with Feeding America, we have committed to donate one million meals* to people in need. In our first initiative as a supporting partner of Feeding America, we have launched a social media campaign to bring awareness to the hunger issues facing the country.
The #ShareAMillionMeals campaign, which will run on Instagram, encourages users to join us in raising awareness for hunger by sharing a photo of their home-cooked meals with #ShareAMillionMeals and @ShareAMillionMeals. We believe everyone deserves access to a home-cooked meal and ButcherBox’s commitment to donate one million meals will make strides in closing the hunger gap in the U.S.
In addition to the #ShareAMillionMeals campaign, we have committed to donate one million meals to Feeding America’s Network of 200 food banks and 60,000 food pantries and meal services. Through this network, Feeding America serves more than 40 million people each year. The social media campaign begins today through June 30, 2020.
ButcherBox’s founder opened up about partnership with Feeding America and the synergies the two organizations have.
“Partnering with Feeding America is a natural extension of our brand mission of Believing in Better because we believe everyone should have access to food and the ability to make a home-cooked meal,” said Mike Salguero, founder of ButcherBox. “We’re excited to kick off this campaign and to become an official Supporting Partner of Feeding America.”
Doug Montgomery, Director of New Partnerships at Feeding America, noted the creativity around ButcherBox’s first campaign with the organization.
“We see and hear many creative pitches from our supporting partners on how to raise awareness for hunger in the U.S., but we’re particularly excited about how well this campaign ties to ButcherBox’s mission as an organization and our vision for a hunger-free America,” noted Montgomery.
