As we’ve grown ButcherBox over the years we have had some tremendous experiences. We’ve met the most amazing folks striving to build and maintain farms and ranches across the country, as well as those protecting fishing communities and ecosystems. We’ve been awed by the insights of food, farming, and agriculture advocates and have pushed food industry partners to join us in our mission to make the system better.
Now, with all the uncertainty facing family farms, especially in these trying times, it is clear to us that we need to do more. We need to act. We need to stand with family farmers and the communities they support.
And so, as a continued step on this journey, ButcherBox will be sponsoring Farm Aid 2020 On The Road.
Supporting Farm Aid helps us play a more vital role in the lives and livelihoods of American farms. Working with Farm Aid allows us to help them with their mission to promote good food from family farms and demand for that food so that there are more opportunities for family farmers to thrive.
“Farm Aid is pleased that ButcherBox is bringing the stories of its farmers and ranchers to Farm Aid 2020 On the Road,” said Glenda Yoder, Associate Director, Farm Aid. “Thank you, ButcherBox, for providing sales and support to your suppliers and to farmers everywhere with your support for Farm Aid.”
A Little Bit About Farm Aid – Music for Family Farms
Since 1985, Farm Aid has raised nearly $60 million to support programs that help farmers thrive, take action to change the dominant system of industrial agriculture, and promote food from family farms.
Farm Aid is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to keep family farmers on the land. Willie Nelson, Neil Young, and John Mellencamp organized the first Farm Aid concert 35 years ago to raise awareness about the loss of family farms. In 2001, Dave Matthews joined the Farm Aid Board of Directors for the nonprofit organization whose mission is to keep family farmers on the land.
This year’s concert, Farm Aid 2020 On the Road, will be a virtual at-home festival experience that will feature more than 20 artists including Willie Nelson and the Boys, Neil Young, John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews, Bonnie Raitt and Boz Scaggs, Brandi Carlisle, Jack Johnson, Lukas Nelson & The Promise of the Real, and many more. Taking place on Saturday, September 26, from 8 – 11 pm EDT, the show will be webcast at farmaid.org and the Farm Aid YouTube channel, will be broadcast on AXS TV, and will be streamed on the Sirius XM channels Willie’s Roadhouse (channel 59) and Dave Matthews Band Radio (channel 30).

Better for Farmers – A ButcherBox Mission
The dedicated farmers who are working to do things the right way and raising animals with care are at the heart of everything we believe the food industry should be.
“We revere our partners and our mission,” explains ButcherBox CEO and founder Mike Salguero. “We want to change the way things are done in the industry for the better, especially to make it better for our partner farmers and ranchers. We are here to make a difference.”
