Got 10 minutes? Great! It’s all you’ll need to whip up this delicious Chicken BLAT (bacon, lettuce, avocado + tomato) sandwich thanks to our Fully Cooked Organic Grilled Chicken Breast. Swap out the mayo with your favorite salad dressing for an added boost of flavor.
Prepping these in advance? Mash avocado with lime, salt, pepper, and olive oil. Store mashed avocado and cooked bacon separately in airtight containers in the refrigerator. Keep lettuce, tomato slices, and chicken refrigerated. When ready to serve, toast bread, spread mashed avocado, assemble sandwiches, and serve immediately. This method ensures freshness and allows for quick assembly.
Ingredients
- 1 ButcherBox's Fully Cooked Organic Free-Range Grilled Chicken Breast thawed
- 2 slices of bacon cooked
- 1/2 ripe avocado sliced
- 2 leaves of lettuce
- 1 small tomato sliced
- 2 slices of your favorite sandwich bread
- mayonnaise or quick aioli (made with mayo, mustard, and ketchup)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook bacon until crispy. You can do this in a skillet on the stovetop or in the microwave according to package instructions. Once cooked, transfer bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.
- Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and slice the flesh. Slice the tomato into thin slices.
- Lightly toast sandwich bread.
- Spread a layer of mayo or quick aioli on one side of each slice of bread.
- On one slice of bread, layer lettuce leaves followed by tomato slices. Add the ButcherBox's Fully Cooked Organic Free-Range Grilled Chicken Breast on top of the tomato slices. Place the slices of crispy bacon on top of the chicken. Finally, layer avocado slices on top of the bacon. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Top with the remaining slice of bread.
